DIY Use Video to help raise funds

Posted in Charities for Educations  by admin on April 4th, 2009

Today with the use of video it is much easier to raise funds for a good cause.

There is so much talk about how most of the donations raised are used for administration purposes by the charities, that many people are reluctant to donate. Take the United Nations - just look at the cars their employees drive - the latest four wheel fuel gusselers - and they call that charity???

But there are many smaller organisations who channel their donations directly into the good cause, but how do we know who they are. If they would just record a simple little video, can even be done with a normal digital camera, and upload it to the social media sites, doners could see how their money is being used and would be much happier donating.

So why not start recording the good that is being done. We can all do with seeing a few good deeds and not just murders, rapes and earth quakes -

To help spread the word, use an easy to use program to distribute your videos to 50 plus social media sites in one go. Saves hours and hours of work.

www.charity-in-action.org is using this program to help raise awareness for small charities.

To Love You More by Moanalua High School 2008 Symphony Orchestra @ The Gift of Hope Charity Concert

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin on February 23rd, 2009

Moanalua High School’s Music Department presents
The Gift of Hope

A Charity Concert for Mercy Ships

Sponsored by New Hope Christian Fellowship

Held at Wallace Rider Farrington High School Auditorium
on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at 7:00 pm
in Honolulu, Hawaii

Excerpt from the program about the charity:
“Aside from the music, tonight’s concert is about something much greater. It’s about the charity. And this year we are proud to give 100% of all funds raised to such a wonderful organization.

In America when we feel an ache or discover a growth on our bodies, we quickly head to the doctor to get it fixed. In Africa, for many, doctors are too expensive or simply unavailable. In America we can safely drink water from the tap. In Africa the next sip of water may cause days of fever but you drink it anyway because there are no other
options.

What was once a Danish rail ferry has been renovated into a floating hospital. With six operating rooms, a 78-bed ward, and volunteers from over 30 countries, the Africa Mercy is able to offer free medical care onboard and multiple programs on shore, such as water sanitation, construction, and agriculture projects that will benefit the surrounding villages long after the ship leaves port.”

Mina - The Inspiration for Women In Need

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin on February 16th, 2009

An extended film about Mina Takhur, who inspired Leah and Usha to set up W.I.N (Women In Need). The film contains graphic images of the state in which Mina was found.

The charity START was founded by Leah Pattison and Usha Patil who were both compelled to treat and rehabilitate women in India suffering from Leprosy.

Continuing with their work, Leah and Usha soon found women suffering from a variety of other problems and so founded their sister organisation WIN (Women In Need), to aid those with problems such as HIV/Aids and Schizophrenia.

Edward Charity plays Hovhaness - 2003

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin on February 9th, 2009

Edward Charity’s first instrument is the violin but he also played trumpet and alto sax — to All-State level. He is playing here, aged 14, with the Caddo Magnet High School Chamber Orchestra.
If you listen to how well the strings are balanced, it will come as no surprise that the year following this performance, they were placed first in the National school orchestra competition - much to the chagrin of more fancied schools! Johnette LeBlanc worked them HARD, but it certainly paid off.
